The Venue

MISSION BAY

Mission Bay is located to the north of San Diego, about a 16 - 20 minute drive from the International Airport.

The yacht club is located inside Mission Bay at the end of a causeway that extends from the beach.  There is ample parking and boat storage.

There are two options for race courses, inside Mission Bay and also outside on the ocean.  The wind is usually light to medium on both courses with a mild swell in the ocean.  The ocean course is an easy sail out a wide channel.

Charter Boats

YOU WILL HAVE A QUALITY BOAT

Limited charter and loaner boats are available, including Perssons, Jibe Techs, and DB Marine hulls.

It is recommended, and may be required by some owners, that teams chartering or borrowing boats should purchase insurance from the Class for the event ($40).

Teams chartering boats should bring their own sails, compass, tension gauge, tape measure, and tools.  It is also recommended if you normally race your own boat, to bring your main and jib sheets and also shrouds and spreaders, as not all boats have the same type of spreaders and stay adjusters.

Charter list will be available in the next couple months.
