Flights  &Transportation

GETTING AROUND MIAMI IS EASY & AFFORABLE

Competitor may choose to fly into two airports.  Miami International Airport (MIA) is 15 - 30 mins. from Sailing Center depending on traffic. Ubers from the airport cost around $12 - $17 dollars.  Fort Lauderdale International Airport is 30 mins. - 1 hour from the Sailing Center depending on traffic.  An Uber costs around $40 to Miami.  There are also two trains - the Metrorail takes around 1.5 hours and requires a transfer.  It costs $3.75.  The Brightline train, requires a short Uber ride from the airport to the train station ($5) and then a 30 minute direct ride to Downtown Miami ($15).  The closest station for both trains is 2.2 km (1 mile) from the Sailing Center.

The Sailing Center is in charming Coconut Grove, 4 km (2 miles) from the downtown/Brickell neighborhood.  Sailors can walk easily in Coconut Grove.  Competitors staying in the Brickell, Coral Gables, or South Miami neighborhood will need a car or take an Uber.

There are city bikes for rent in Downtown, Brickell, Coconut Grove, and South Beach ($6 for 30 minutes).  There is a City Bike station very near the Sailing Center.  It's easy to tour the area on City bikes.
